Rui Pena dos Reis
He is from Assentis (Torres Novas), where he was born on 15 July 1952. He is a graduate in Geology of the University of Coimbra (1976) and concluded his post-graduate studies at the University of Nancy (France) in Geochemistry, Petrology and Metalogeny. He concluded his Doctorate in Stratigraphy and Palaeontology at the University of Coimbra (1984), where currently he teaches in the Earth Sciences Department. From 1996 to 2000 he was the Director of the Geology Department at the Mining and Geological Institute, which was part of the Ministry of Industry. In the last few years he has worked tirelessly with universities and companies in the area of research and exploitation of hydrocarbon and has created specialized training in this area of expertise. He is the author of several papers on Stratigraphy, and the geo-history of the Portuguese basin.
