On June 2, the UNESCO Chair Patrimónios and the Center for the History of Society and Culture (CHSC), in partnership with Fundação Oriente, hosted the Conferences Through Goan Lenses.

The event featured presentations by Professor Vishvesh Kandolkar (Goa College of Architecture), on the theme “Goa's Bom Jesus as Visual Culture: A Monument's Journey from Colonial Icon to Postcolonial Identity” and Professor Parag Parobo (Goa University), on the theme “Religious processes and a regional tradition in Goa”.

On June 3, after a guided tour of the University's main monuments and museums, the guests were invited to participate in a workshop on the theme of UC’s sensitive heritages, that aimed at discussing the theme of decolonization of heritages and institutions and exploring possibilities for future collaborations on the subject.

The conversation was also attended by professors Delfim Correia da Silva (Cunha Rivara Chair), Benedito Ferrão (College of William & Mary) and Rosa Perez (ISCTE), as well as UC professors and researchers.
