The Luso-American Cultural Commission, known as the Fulbright Commission, was established in 1960 through a diplomatic agreement between the Portuguese and the United States Governments. Since then, the Commission has administered the Fulbright Program in Portugal, promoting educational exchange.
The mission of the Fulbright Commission is to foster mutual understanding between Portugal and the United States by providing merit-based exchange opportunities for teachers, researchers, and students. It also offers quality guidance and information on the educational systems of both countries and organizes initiatives that encourage knowledge sharing.
