Maria de Sousa Award 2025 | Deadline: 31 May 2025
Applications are now open for the 5th edition of the Maria de Sousa Award, an initiative promoted in partnership by the Portuguese Medical Association and the BIAL Foundation, with the aim of honouring the Portuguese immunologist and researcher after whom it is named.
The Maria de Sousa Award aims to honour and support young Portuguese scientific researchers, aged 35 or under, within the scope of research projects in the area of Health Sciences.
In this edition, up to five applications may be selected, each of which will be awarded a grant up to a maximum monetary amount of 30.000€.
Applications must necessarily include an internship at an International Centre of Excellence (located in a country other than the Host Entity’s country), with a minimum duration of four months and taking place during the period of execution of the research project.
The deadline for submitting applications is 31 May 2025 (23h59, mainland Portugal time). Applicants will be notified of the results by 31 October 2025.
