Coimbra Biennial of Contemporary Art 2019

The Coimbra Biennial of Contemporary Art is free and opens to the public on the 2nd November until the 29th December 2019. With chief curatorship by Agnaldo Farias and associate curatorship by Lígia Afonso and Nuno de Brito Rocha, its name is borrowed from the title of the short story “The Third Bank of the River” (1962) by João Guimarães Rosa, one of the most important Brazilian writers of the 20th century. The inauguration of Anozero’19 A Terceira Margem/The Third Bank takes place on the 2nd November and features performances by Luís Lázaro Matos, Daniel Melim and Alexandra Pirici.
