On October 16–17, 2025, the Colégio das Artes of the University of Coimbra will host the meeting Patrimónios (In)Comuns: non-anthropocentric perspectives and legacies for more-than-human futures, promoted by IN2PAST – Associate Laboratory.

The initiative aims to foster and provoke multiple dialogues: between the human and natural sciences, sciences and the arts, academia and non-academic knowledge, around more-than-human landscapes across different times and places. It is addressed to researchers, lecturers, and master’s and PhD students from diverse disciplinary areas, while also welcoming non-academic audiences. Admission is free but requires prior registration through this short form.

The meeting has the institutional support of the Department of Life Sciences (DCV), namely through the PhD Program in Anthropology of the DCV – UC, and through the participation of several members in the local organizing committee: Sandra Xavier, João Marto Pereira, Joel Gregório, and Luís Quintais.

The scientific program will also feature João Loureiro, lecturer and researcher at the DCV, who will lead the workshop “A bombastic conversation about communities around plants and their pollinators: the Jardim Monte Formoso and São Flores initiatives, Coimbra”. In this session, participants will create seed bombs using recycled paper, clay, and native seeds, fostering a dialogue between science, community, and civic engagement.
