Sounds for Sustainability – Climate Folk – Dance of the Carbon Cycles
An interdisciplinary gathering dedicated to exploring the role of sound, music, dance and acoustics in environmental awareness, conservation and climate action.
This event, which will take place on June 6 and 7, 2025, in Ireland, is part of a wider initiative within the SHiFT and will feature various contributions, including scientific research, artistic performances, case studies and participatory workshops.

Climate Folk - Dance of the Carbon Cycles (Participatory Session)
The Dance of the Carbon Cycles is an immersive and interactive experience in which participants engage in a collaborative performance that interprets climate processes through movement, sound and storytelling.
- This activity is designed and guided by scientists, musicians and traditional dancers based in Ireland.
- It allows participants to experience and express the carbon cycle, biodiversity and the challenges of sustainability in innovative and interactive ways.
- The activity integrates scientific knowledge, artistic expression and embodied learning, making it a powerful tool for education and engagement.
