The Thematic Areas, elaborated collectively, express the scope and the diversity of the common work and account for the multidisciplinary research strategy required by the Unit.
They are to be understood as meeting ground, encouraging debate and reflection on the contents and methodologies of research in its various geographical and chronological dimensions: It also acts as a plataform for participation promotion of common actions between the various groups that compose the research center. These areas are also understood as frameworks of reference for convergence within the Unit and to stimulate research with international groups of researchers, particularly in post-doctoral programs.
These areas also count with the contribution of collaborators working together in the broad framework of Thematic Areas or in narrower programs extended to several groups. Similarly, they adjust the research aimed at establishing cross-section and thematically diverse PhD dissertations.
