University of Coimbra opens PET tomograph for cutting-edge research in medical imaging
This tomograph is one of the two PET equipment that the University of Coimbra has just received as part of the research infrastructure BIN – Brain Imaging National Network

The University of Coimbra inaugurates tomorrow (Tuesday, 7th) a PET tomograph (for Positron Emission Tomography, which will provide its Institute of Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health (ICNAS) with unique conditions at a national level for research in imaging The equipment – essential for the study of the brain and diagnosis of diseases such as neurological, cardiovascular and cancer disorders – will be presented at a session, from 12:00, at ICNAS, with the presence of the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa.
