Áreas de interesseHis research team has been pursuing several approaches aiming at:
(i) reducing uncertainties in Ecological Risk Assessments of contaminated sites, particularly in the tropics;
(ii) evaluating microevolution due to pollution in both soil and aquatic populations and studying inheritance of resistance to metals;
(iii) developing both laboratory and in situ ecologically relevant short-term sublethal toxicity assays, representing different functions in freshwater and estuarine ecosystems.
