Normas para aceitação de textos

Os artigos propostos devem ser originais e remetidos pelos autores à/ao coordenador do volume, numa das seguintes línguas: português, castelhano, inglês, francês, italiano, galego ou catalão.

Os artigos propostos para publicação serão sujeitos a apreciação por parte de dois especialistas externos, em processo dirigido pelo coordenador do número da Revista e acompanhado pelo Diretor e Conselho Editorial, prevendo-se a possibilidade de ser sugerida ao autor a reformulação do texto original com vista à sua publicação.

Cada artigo não deverá exceder 50.000 caracteres (incluindo espaços em branco), deverá ser acompanhado de um resumo com um limite máximo de 200 palavras e por um conjunto de palavras chave (mínimo 3, máximo 5). O resumo e as palavras chave devem ser apresentados em duplicado: na língua original do texto e em inglês.

Os artigos deverão ser remetidos em ficheiro Word dirigido ao coordenador da Revista, no qual, na primeira página devem ser claramente explicitados os seguintes dados: nome do autor, filiação académica (máximo de 2 instituições), endereço postal, endereço eletrónico e telefone.

Gráficos, tabelas e eventuais ilustrações devem ser remetidos em ficheiros autónomos, com indicação no texto do local onde devem ser inseridos. Cabe ao autor a responsabilidade de obter a competente autorização para a publicação de imagens sujeitas a direitos de autoria.

As referências bibliográficas e arquivísticas devem ser normalizadas de acordo com os seguintes exemplos, e fornecidas em notas de rodapé no final de cada página:

A partir da segunda citação da mesma obra deve usar-se um sistema simplificado. Exemplos: Georges Gusdorf, Les principes..., cit., p. 89; Fernando Bouza Alvarez, Lisboa sózinha..., cit., p. 90.

Serão enviadas aos autores provas tipográficas para correção. Não se aceitarão alterações superiores a 10% do texto original.

Uma vez publicado o artigo, cada autor receberá gratuitamente vinte separatas do respetivo texto e um exemplar da Revista.

Guidelines for contributors

Texts should be original and written in one of the following languages - Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French or English - and submitted by the authors to the Board of the Journal of History of Society and Culture.

The articles undergo peer review by two external referees, in a process supervised by the coordinator of the current number of the Magazine and followed up by the Director of the Centre and the Editorial Board. There is the possibility of recommending to the author the reformulation of the original text in order to its publication.

Each article should not exceed 50.000 characters (including blank spaces), it should be accompanied by an abstract with a maximum limit of 200 words, as well as a set of keywords (minimum 3, maximum 5). The articles should be sent in an electronic file in rtf format to the coordinator of the Journal, in which, in the first page, should be clearly mentioned the following information: author’s name, academic affiliation (maximum 2 institutions), address, electronic address and phone number.

Graphics, charts and illustrations should be sent in autonomous files, mentioning in the article’s text the location where each one of them should appear. It is up to the author the responsibility to ensure the lawful authorization for publication of images, which are protected by copyrights.

Bibliographic and archival references should be normalized according to the following examples and standards, and must be given in end notes placed at the bottom of each page:

Monographies:

For second bibliographic citations of the same publication, one should use a simplified process. Examples: Georges Gusdorf, Les principes..., cit., p. 89; Fernando Bouza Alvarez, Lisboa sózinha..., cit., p. 90.

Printing proofs will be sent to the authors for revision before publication. Modifications that exceed 10% of the original text will not be accepted.

Once the paper is published, each author will gratuitously receive twenty printed copies of the article and one copy of the Journal.
