风筝是中国的传统手工艺品,在竹篾等做的骨架上糊纸或绢,趁着风势可以放上天空,地上的人们通过手中的长线来操纵风筝。

Kite is a traditional Chinese handicraft. The main body of a kate is consisted of paper or silk, which is pasted on a skeleton made of bamboo strips. It can be put into the sky by wind and is controled by a long thread, the other end of which is held by people on the ground.

风筝简史 The breif history of kite

2000多年前的春秋时期,人们用竹、木和丝帛制作风筝。中国东汉时期,造纸术的发明使纸代替丝帛,成为风筝羽翼的主要材料,风筝也因此被称作“纸鸢”。

More than 2000 years ago, during the Spring and Autumn Period, people made kites with bamboo, wood and silk. During the Eastern Han Dynasty of China, the papermaking tecnology made paper replace silk and become the main material, thus, kites were therefore designated "paper birds."

隋唐时期中国的造纸术发展迅速,到了宋代,放纸风筝已然成为了流行的春日活动,一直延续至今。

During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, China's papermaking technology developed rapidly. In the Song Dynasty, abou 1 century D.C., flying kites had become a popular spring event and the tradition has lasted until day.
