Since 2011, the University of Coimbra has had a management system based on strategic planning.
More than a statutory requirement, or good practice, strategic planning is a structured approach to anticipate the future, an opportunity to map out the University's path according to a vision, designed to make it real.
Over the course of previous strategic planning cycles, a culture of permanent monitoring and regular evaluation of the UC's activity has been created and developed, across the entire organisational structure and the various management levels, and has already been fully assimilated by the academic community.
Integrated into the management cycle, this dynamic allows the continuous development of planning, monitoring, evaluation and feedback processes, aiming to achieving excellence in all the pillars and axes of the University of Coimbra's mission and areas of activity.
