How to reach Coimbra

By car

From Lisbon by car (200Km), you should take the highway A1 in the direction of Oporto and exit in Coimbra Sul. It will take approximately 2 hours.

From Oporto by car (120Km), you should take the highway A1 direction Lisbon and exit in Coimbra North. It will take approximately 1 hour.

By train

There are fast trains ("Alfa"; "Intercidades") departing regularly from Lisbon (Oriente; the “Alfa” takes approximately 1h40) and Oporto (Campanhã station the “Alfa” takes approximately 1h00) to Coimbra-B station. For timetables check CP (the national train company).

From Coimbra-B station you can take an Uber or a taxi.

By bus

Flix and other companies have many almost hourly buses from Oporto and Lisbon.

By plane

Coimbra is about 120 km from Oporto airport and 200 Km from Lisbon airport. From both airports you can take the subway to the train stations mentioned above.
