On this webpage you can find some useful information concerning the organisation and workings of the University of Coimbra.
University and Faculties?
The University comprises 8 Faculties, the College of Arts and the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research, in which its courses are delivered.
Departments?
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLUC) and the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (FCTUC) are divided into Departments. The FCTUC departments are in Polo 1 and Polo 2 of the University of Coimbra.
UC Services?
The UC has different services aimed at the Students, including the Academic Management Services (SGA), the Social Services (SAS) and the International Relations Unit (DRI).
Academic Services?
The Academic Management Services (SGA) are responsible for the issues concerning the courses offered by the UC and the academic pathway of UC Students. All the requests concerning students’ academic pathway, from their application to the issuance of their diploma, are submitted to these services.
Faculty Services?
Each Faculty, or Department, has its own services where students can obtain information about lectures, assessments, timetables, classes, registration for exams in the normal and special periods, and submission of assignments.
Course Coordination
Lectures may take place in different Faculties or Departments, but each Course has a Professor or a Committee to whom students can turn regarding the workings of the course.
Inforestudante?
This is the academic IT system of the UC in which students check their personal data, grades and tuition fees, submit applications, register with the UC, register for exams and classes, submit requests, issue or request certificates.
UC Student?
Plataforma informática da UC, ligada ao InforEstudante, que permite assistir a aulas online, marcar presenças, reunir e dialogar com o/a docente na sala pessoal, receber materiais pedagógicos através do chat.
Student Hub
A unique space and concept designed to gather the assistance services aimed at Students, which includes the SGA, DRI and SASUC. But, there is much more inside this space!
Classes and Timetables?
Besides the registration done annually at Inforestudante, the student selects a class and a timetable concerning each curricular unit for which he/she registers. Rules are established at the Faculty or Department where lectures take place.
Regulations and Deadlines?
The rules and general deadlines related to courses and cycles of studies are defined in the regulations of the UC. Annually a Rector's Orders is published which includes the deadlines for the academic procedures concerning the academic year.
