The UC Students have a set of rights and duties defined in the University Regulations
To begin with, you may read the Disciplinary Regulation for the UC Students, which includes the Charter of Principles of the UC Students
If you are a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD Degree Student:

The Academic Assistance at the UC is carried out by the Academic Management Services which deal with all the issues concerning the students’ academic pathway, from their application to the issuance of their diploma. |
The UC, by means of the Academic Management Services, provides its students with different communication channels concerning the academic procedures they have to undertake during their whole academic pathway. Therefore, the schedule and opening hours of the In-Person and Telephone Academic Assistance are published at the beginning of each year at Academic Services Assistance | UC.
The Telephone Assistance provides daily the number +351 239 247 195, with automatic voice assistance permanently available.
The Assistance by Email is carried out by means of the online form www.uc.pt/en/academic-services/e-mail.
- The doubts/questions, problems and requests concerning applications, enrolment and registration, tuition fee, special and extraordinary exams, students’ status and special situations, certificates and diplomas, submission of Thesis (PhD), should be addressed to the Academic Management Services.

By email and a notification at InforEstudante. After enrolment, an email account is created which is the official email address of each UC Student. You may forward emails from this account to another email address, with some precautions. |
Institutional email and official channel for UC communications
Immediately after the enrolment at InforEstudante an email account is created, associated with the domain @student.uc.pt. This account is the official email address of each Student used by the UC to contact them and serves as a credential to access a wide number of online services made available to the University community.

Until July/August, before the beginning of the academic year, the deadlines and target dates, with which a student must comply, are published. The academic calendar is published until March for the academic year that begins in September. |
The academic year usually begins on 1st September of a year and ends on 31st August of the subsequent year.
- 2025/2026 begins on 1st September 2025 and ends on 31st August 2026.
The calendar that includes the periods of classes and assessments for the subsequent academic year are defined by means of a Rector’s Order before the beginning of the academic year, and it is published at:
Concerning the 2025/2026 academic year, the periods of classes and assessments have been approved by the Rector’s Order Nº 89/2025 of 25th February.
