Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Your situation complies with what is established for an Officious Transfer if:
1) You have been admitted to a course by means of the CNA, at a certain Higher Education Institution (IES) and phase of admission.
2) You have enrolled at that Higher Education Institution, and paid or did not pay the tuition fee and registration fee.
3) In the same academic year and another phase of admission, you have been admitted to a course at the same or another University.
4) You have enrolled in the second course and Higher Education Institution.
In this case, the valid enrolment is the last one, and you cannot return to the previous enrolment since the place has already been redistributed. You do not need to carry out any procedures at the other Institution since your enrolment will be interrupted and your documents and tuition fee, if they exist, will be transferred to the other institution.
Examples:
- in 2017/2018 you were admitted to the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics at the UC in the 1st phase and you enrolled within the established deadline, but you applied to the Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the UC. You were admitted in the 2nd phase and enrolled for that bachelor’s Degree Course. Therefore the Academic Management Services of the UC must interrupt your enrolment on the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and transfer the amounts already paid for that course to the Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry.
- in 2017/2018 you were admitted to the Bachelor’s Degree in History at the UC in the 2nd phase, you enrolled within the established deadline, but you applied to the same Bachelor’s degree at the University of Porto - UP. You were admitted in the 3rd phase and enrolled at the UP. Therefore, the Academic Management Services of the UC must interrupt your enrolment on the Bachelor’s Degree in History and transfer the amounts already paid for that course to the University of Porto
In this situation the student has to choose whether he/she wants to be registered for two courses or withdraw and attend only one of them.
You must submit your request for withdrawal as soon as possible since, according to the regulation, you will be exempt from paying the instalments concerning the months subsequent to the withdrawal date.
