ADAI was present at the 2nd edition of Inovação@UC
On November 9, 2022, the Convento de São Francisco hosted the Inovação@UC 2nd edition, with the participation of about 600 people. The event, which aims to promote science development, knowledge generation and the dissemination of science, is an initiative of the Innovation Commission of the UC General Council.
ADAI was present, with a team of researchers who shared different projects with the visitors at the event.
In the area of Entrepreneurship at UC, Professor José Baranda Ribeiro (FCTUC) and Eduardo Costa (Executive Director of SCIVEN) shared their experience and involvement in creating a Spin-off at UC: SCIVEN.
The Field Tech Laboratory, CEIF-ADAI, dedicated to the development and implementation of technological solutions in the areas of mobile and service robotics, autonomous robots, remote sensing, drones, satellite data, embedded systems, and fire engineering, was present. Carlos Viegas, researcher responsible, explains “We showcased one of our custom-made drone platforms for forest fuel mapping, another custom-made drone for firefighting and an intelligent fire suppression water monitor, with automatic targeting capabilities”.
Research in innovations in measuring devices for IEQ, thermal comfort and thermal solar adsorption, and the safety mask (visor), which is a prototype developed within the scope of the “VV4MC” was also presented by Professor José Costa and the researchers Nuno Rosa, Gonçalo Brites and John Ogundiran.
