UC received researchers from Lúrio University
Between September 15 and 30, 2025, University of Lúrio (UniLúrio) professors and researchers Jasse Semente and Cosme Lingongo carried out a working mission to the University of Coimbra (UC) as part of the AfroEnergy Project.
Developed in partnership between UniLúrio and UC, the project aims to identify effective ways to integrate clean energy sources into urban and rural housing in Mozambique, contributing to improved indoor environments and the reduction of energy poverty.
During the mission, the researchers took part in project planning meetings, thematic sessions on indoor air quality and thermal comfort, and attended master’s thesis defenses related to AfroEnergy. They also visited laboratories at UC and at the Coimbra Institute of Engineering, and received hands-on training in the use of advanced monitoring equipment for environmental data collection and analysis.
The initiative strengthened scientific cooperation between Portugal and Mozambique, enhancing technical and research capacities and preparing the next steps in the implementation of the AfroEnergy project.
