Schwarzman Scholars Program

Schwarzman Scholars promotes a one-year, fully-funded master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders for the challenges of the future.

Application deadline (to the 2023-2024 program): September 20, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Must have an undergraduate degree
2. Must be 18-28 years of age
3. Must be proficient in the English language (with certification)

Academic Research Grants - Culture Affairs Bureau of the Macau S.A.R. Government

Objective: to encourage original academic research on the culture of Macao, and on the exchange between Macao, Mainland China and other countries.

Applications period: from March 1 to May 31, every year.

The following persons may apply:

1. Local or overseas doctorate degree holders, with proven academic research experience;

2. Local or overseas individuals, with sufficient research experience and recognized academic production.

Financial Support Program for Frequency of Master's Courses at the University of Coimbra - Macao Special Administrative Region Government - Talents Development Committee

Applications for qualified bilingual (Chinese and Portuguese) Macao residents to attend master's courses taught by the University of Coimbra, with the support of the Government of Macao.

Macao Foundation Scholarships

The University of Coimbra and the Macau Foundation have established an agreement with the purpose of promoting studies on Macau. Grants are awarded annually to students who are attending a master's or doctoral course and whose theme of the course dissertation concerns “Macao Studies”.

"China Three Gorges" Masters Scholarships

The “China Three Gorges (CTG)” scholarships are the result of a partnership between the University of Coimbra and the China Three Gorges Corporation to encourage graduate students from the University of Coimbra to continue their studies at Universities in the People's Republic of China.

FJA Awards 2022

The Jorge Álvares Foundation (FJA) has opened, from May 2 until October 14, 2022, a competition for the attribution of 3 prizes to students attending Portuguese or Chinese higher education institutions for Master's and Doctoral studies on studies on Portugal, Mainland China and the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
