On the 11th of April 2019, the University of Coimbra (UC) and the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) signed an agreement for the establishment of the BFSU-UC Centre for China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Studies.
The agreement was signed by the Vice-Rectors for International Relations of both institutions, João Nuno Calvão da Silva of the University of Coimbra, and Yan Guohua of Beijing Foreign Studies University.
The BFSU-UC Center will develop projects of common interest in the areas of Literature and Law and represents another important step in the strengthening of ties between the University of Coimbra and the People's Republic of China. Beijing Foreign Studies University is one of the oldest and most prestigious foreign study universities in China.
