From October 30 to November 1, 2019, the University of Coimbra (UC) participated in the Annual Conference of the Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities (GISU), in Guangzhou.
The UC was represented by Professor Rui de Figueiredo Marcos, Director of the Sino-Lusophone Academy and the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, and by Professor Cristina Zhou, Director of the Confucius Institute and Executive Director of the CASS-UC Centre of China Studies and the BFSU-UC Centre for China-Portuguese Speaking Countries.
The UC is one of the founding members of GISU, which promotes cooperation between universities in sister-cities of Guangzhou, to enhance in-depth and creative development of education, scientific research and cultural exchanges.
