On October 20, 2020, the University of Coimbra (UC), represented by Vice-Rector João Nuno Calvão da Silva, celebrated, in the Senate Room, a cooperation agreement with Portugal-China Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Chamber of Commerce (CCPC - PME), represented by its President, Y Ping Chow, also President of the League of Chinese in Portugal and representative of the Chinese Community in the High Commission for Migration.

According to João Nuno Calvão da Silva, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Alumni of UC, “in addition to foreseeing the organization of joint initiatives in several areas, this agreement aims to promote cooperation in specific fields such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and to deepen the connection between the University and the business community in the wake of the strengthening of relations between the University of Coimbra and the People's Republic of China”.

After signing the agreement, the delegation also visited the spaces of the Sino-Lusophone Academy and the Confucius Institute of the University of Coimbra.
