On 28 March 2023, the Vice-Rector of Renmin University of China (RUC), Professor Du Peng, and the Executive Deputy Director of RUC International Office, Zhang Xiaomeng, were welcomed in the Senate Room by the Vice-Rector for External Relations and Alumni of the University of Coimbra, Prof. João Nuno Calvão da Silva, to discuss the strengthening of relations between both institutions.
In what was the first visit of a RUC delegation to Europe after the pandemic, the Directors of the Confucius Institute of the UC, Li Xiangming and Cristina Zhou, were also present.
