The lecture series “Asian and European-Lusophone Civilization” is a cultural activity financed by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia), with the aim of stimulating academic and cultural dialogue between Asia, Europe and the Lusophone World.

This series of lectures aims to stimulate the reflection of Portuguese-speaking academic world about the status quo of Asian studies in Portugal, Europe and other Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as rethinking the challenges and opportunities for international cooperation in the new global context.

Its fundamental objective is to broaden the cultural horizon of the academic community and to deepen the interdisciplinary dialogue that crosses areas of study such as Literature, Law, Philosophy, History, Geography, Education, Sociology, among others.

Period: from February 18 until May 27, 2021

Format: 15 lectures on Zoom and/or at the University of Coimbra [depending on the evolution of the pandemic]

Free and mandatory registration, until the day before each session.

On the eve of each session, the link to the Zoom meeting will be sent via email, as well as confirmation of the location of the in-person lecture.

2022 Eurasia Foundation Prizes

Attribution of two prizes worth €500 to the two best students who develop a written work on a topic related to the lectures.
