Presentation of the book "150th Anniversary of the Enforcement of the Seabra Civil Code in the Territories of Goa, Daman and Diu "
On 30 April 2025, the University of Coimbra (UC) held the 34th session of the ‘Conversations at the UC House of Lusophony’, in partnership with the Embassy of India in Portugal, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Portugal.
On this occasion, the book ‘150th Anniversary of the Enforcement of the Seabra Civil Code in the Territories of Goa, Daman and Diu’ was launched, with a presentation by the Director of the Sino-Lusophone Academy of the UC, Rui de Figueiredo Marcos.
The book, with a foreword by the Director of the Sino-Lusophone Academy, and an afterword by the Vice-Rector for External Relations and Alumni of the UC, João Nuno Calvão da Silva, is the result of the compilation of speeches given at solemn ceremonies held in October and November 2019, namely:
- Goa: Wharf and Memory - The Sesquicentennial of the Enforcement of the Seabra Code to the Territories of Goa, Daman and Diu, by António José Chrystêllo Tavares, Consul General of Portugal in Goa
 - The Viscount of Seabra and the Enforcement of Portuguese Law in Goa, by Rui Manuel de Figueiredo Marcos, Director of the Sino-Lusophone Academy of the University of Coimbra and Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra
 - Speech at the Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Enforcement of the Seabra Code in the Territories of Goa, Daman and Diu, by K. Nandini Singla, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Portugal
