CEAACP is the Centre for Studies in Archaeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences - R&D Research Unit nº 281 of the FCT. It is an inter-institutional unit that brings together the University of Coimbra, the Mértola Archaeological Site and the University of the Algarve.

Founded in 1993 as an Archaeology unit. It currently carries out multidisciplinary research organised into three research groups: Archaeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences. It promotes shared research in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities, with a special focus on the disciplinary areas of Archaeology, Arts, Archaeogeography, Vernacular Architectures, Heritage and New Technologies linked to Heritage. The current strategic plan favours the study of landscapes and cultural contacts.
