About CEAACP
Our Journey
Founded in 1993 by professors and researchers of the Universities of Coimbra and Porto, the then-named CEAUCP (Centre for Archaeological Studies of the Universities of Coimbra and Porto) was based at the University of Coimbra and had the Archaeologist and Professor Jorge de Alarcão as its first Director.
In 2007, the Mértola Archaeological Site and an Arts Research Group joined the Research Unit, diversifying its areas of activity and changing its internal organization.
