Biografia

Armando Rabaça is an architect and Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra, where he served as Deputy Director from 2020 to 2021 and as coordinator of the Integrated Master’s in Architecture from 2018 to 2020. He is a PhD researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Twentieth Century (CEIS20). His research interests focus on 19th and early 20th-century architecture, urban design, and architectural theory, with a particular emphasis on the work of Le Corbusier. Through these, he has developed a critical perspective on contemporary architecture and architectural culture. He is the author of the book Entre o Espaço e a Paisagem (Coimbra: Edarq, 2011), edited the book Le Corbusier, História e Tradição (Coimbra: Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra, 2017), and has published several book chapters and articles in scientific journals. He is the editorial coordinator of Edarq (Editorial of the Department of Architecture) and co-editor of Joelho - Journal of Architectural Culture with Bruno Gil since 2019. He has been awarded an honorable mention in the Ideas Competition for the Consolidation of the Historic City of Erice, Italy, received the Fernando Távora Award, and an honorable mention in the Diogo de Castilho Award, among others.
