Biografia
An architect graduated from FAUP in 1988, he completed the APCC examinations at the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (DARQ-FCTUC) in 1996 and earned his PhD in Architectural Projects from UPC, Barcelona, in 2007. He is a founding member of AEAULP – the Association of Schools of Architecture and Urbanism of Portuguese-Speaking Countries. He served as President of the Regional Section of the Order of Architects (OAR) from 2011 to 2013. He is an Associate Professor at DARQ-FCTUC, where he joined in 1991 and served as Director from 2008 to 2010. He teaches the Atelier de Projeto I (Project Workshop I, 4th year) course of the Integrated Master's Program in Architecture (MIA), is a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), a member of the CES-UC ethics committee, and teaches in the Coimbra Studio and Research Seminar. He was a Visiting Professor at the Facoltà di Architettura “Aldo Rossi” in Cesena, at the Università “Alma Mater Studiorum” in Bologna, Italy, in 2011/2012, and at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris for three semesters between 2015 and 2016. He has published scientific articles, books, and works in national and international journals and has participated in conferences and workshops in Portugal and abroad.
