Biografia

Nuno Travasso (Porto, 1980) is an architect and Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Coimbra. He is an Integrated Researcher in the Morphologies and Dynamics of Territory group at CEAU-FAUP and a collaborative member of CEARQ-TD. His research focuses on studying the processes, dynamics, and actors of contemporary urbanization, the modes of reading, representation, and intervention in areas of extensive occupation, urban planning and management practices, and public housing policies. In these areas, he has coordinated or participated in various research projects closely linked with public entities and the third sector. His research activities have resulted in the publication of several scientific articles and book chapters, as well as presentations at national and international conferences. He is actively engaged in public discussions surrounding land use planning and related public policies. He has also worked in urban planning and design, participating in various territorial management tools as a consultant, team member, or coordinator. He has teaching experience (DARQ-UC, FAUP, EAAD-UM) related to urban design, contemporary urbanization theory, and the history and theory of urbanism.
