Biografia
Pedro Pousada, PhD, is the Director of the College of Arts at the University of Coimbra, coordinator of its Doctorate in Contemporary Art, and an assistant professor in the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), where he teaches drawing, modern art, art theory, and art history. His current research areas involve spatial practices in advanced modernist and contemporary art, interlinked with the field of architecture, emphasizing the colonization of the symbolic and aesthetic by dominant economic forms. He is a visual artist with extensive experience in contemporary drawing and painting and has been a member of the Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra (CAPC) since 2010, currently serving on its board. In 2015, he was a curator, alongside Carlos Antunes and Luís Quintais, of the 1st Coimbra Contemporary Art Biennial, Anozero. His artistic work is regularly exhibited, having participated in both solo and group exhibitions.
