Pawel Tacikowski is a cognitive neuroscientist whose research focuses on how the brain constructs the sense of self—that is, our experience of who we are as a person. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Coimbra. Previously, he held postdoctoral positions at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and at the University of California, Los Angeles. His work combines methods from cognitive neuroscience and experimental psychology, with the long-term goal of translating insights from basic research into improved therapies for neurological and psychiatric conditions.
