Duration
01/01/2025 - 31/12/2030
Abstract
The fragmented landscape of music studies hinders interdisciplinary collaboration and the advancement of music theory research. In this context, the EU-funded MusicAnalytica project will mobilise talented individuals and cultivate a radical reconfiguration within the field. Spearheaded by renowned music theorist Richard Cohn, the project assembles an exceptional international team dedicated to bridging gaps between diverse methodologies in music computation, cognitive sciences and anthropology. Structured around 12 work packages, MusicAnalytica aims to enhance research capacity, initiate institutional reforms at the University of Coimbra and promote gender balance and citizen science. By fostering collaboration the project aspires to enrich the cultural heritage and creative sectors across Europe.
