Abstract
The New Research and Innovation Arrangement (NAPI) Education of the Future conducts research on innovation in Brazil’s public basic education systems in the post-pandemic context. To this end, it brings together researchers from various institutions and aims to contribute to public policy, academic studies, and practical outcomes that support the development of education in Paraná and across the country.
Project: Digital Competencies of Public-Sector Basic and Higher Education Teachers
WHAT?
This project seeks to generate knowledge regarding the digital competencies of teachers in Basic and Higher Public Education across 100 municipalities in the state of Paraná, targeting an estimated population of 50,000 individuals.
HOW?
Through several key stages: Mapping and assessment of teachers' digital proficiency; Analysis of existing training models and professional development actions; Design of new training models; Implementation of capacity-building initiatives; Development of Open Educational Resources (OER); Evaluation and dissemination of results; Among other related activities.
Objectives
• To assess teachers’ digital proficiency using data collected through proficiency scales and interviews, identifying proficiency levels among 45,000 public basic education teachers and 5,000 public higher education teachers.
• To implement targeted training and professional development initiatives for teachers, based on the results of the initial diagnostic assessment.
• To evaluate the impact of these training actions on the development of digital competencies.
• To assess levels of satisfaction with the implemented virtual pedagogical models and training activities.
• To produce open data on teachers’ digital competencies and disseminate the results as a basis for further research and policy development.
