Ivete Pieruccini

Ivete Pieruccini is a lecturer and researcher at the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo. She has a degree in Library Science (1973), a master's degree (1998) and a doctorate (2004) in Communication Sciences from ECA/USP. She teaches the subjects Fundamentals in Library, Documentation and Information Science and Infoeducation: theory and practice, on the Undergraduate Course in Library Science. She is a member of the Social Appropriation of Information research line at PPGCI/ECA/USP, teaching the subjects Biblioeducation: between memory, information and training, Infoeducation: access and appropriation of information in contemporary times and Cultural mediation: theory and practice. She is the leader of GPEB - Grupo de Pesquisa em Biblioeducação (CNPq) and a guest researcher at CEIS20 Centro de Estudos Interdisciplinares, at the University of Coimbra/PO. She develops and directs research aimed at building theoretical and methodological references essential to addressing the complex relationships between library and education in different socio-cultural contexts, especially in Brazil. The studies are based on the following thematic axes: library and education; biblioeducation; mediation and cultural mediators; school library and informational knowledge; information, cultural mediation; infoeducation; information and memory; cultural devices and dialogical informational order; translator cultural education.
