Biografia

Karen Cristina Galletto is a collaborating researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Coimbra (CEIS20/UC) and is part of the Working Group "History, Memory, Public Policies," coordinated by Dr. Joana Guerra and Dr. Francisco Pinheiro. Karen Galletto holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Instituto Superior de Ciências Aplicadas (ISCA), Limeira, Brazil (2005); a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2016); and a Master's degree in Cultural Heritage from the University of Minho (UMINHO), Braga, Portugal (2022). Her dissertation, "Dark Tourism as a Possibility of Tourist Experience in the Municipality of Campinas (Brazil)", approved with 18 points, is examined in the book "Dark Tourism: Heritage, Memory, and Narratives". Currently, she is working in the areas of Anthropology, Heritage, and Tourism, specifically Dark Heritage and Dark Tourism.
