Lina Alves Madeira

Lina Maria Gonçalves Alves Madeira, graduated in History (1991), master and doctorate in Contemporary History (pre-Bologna), with the theses “Alberto da Veiga Simões. Sketch of a Political Biography” (2001) - Fundação Mário Soares 2002 award [Coimbra, Quarteto Editora, 2002] - and “The Mechanism of (Dis) Promotions of the MNE. The Paradigmatic Case of Aristides de Sousa Mendes” (2014), always from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra, has been at the service of the Ministry of Education, as a teacher of History of the 3rd Cycle and Secondary Education, except during the biennium 2008-2010, when she received a PhD scholarship from the Science and Technology Foundation (STF). She is interested in Diplomatic History and Regional History, collaborating with the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the 20th Century at the University of Coimbra, CEIS20, since 2001.
