Sandra Lourenço

Sandra Sofia Duarte Lourenço was born in 1978. In 2001, by open tender, she was admitted into the Administração Regional de Saúde do Centro, I.P., where she holds a permanent civil service placement since 2011, with senior technician duties in public health and planning. In 2010, she got her licentiate degree in Social Work at the Instituto Superior Miguel Torga in Coimbra. Since 2015, she has pursued her interest in Statistics, taking courses at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and a postgraduate degree in Multifactorial Analysis from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisboa. In 2017, she got her master’s degree in Health Management and Economics from the University of Coimbra, Faculty of Economics. Under the supervision of PhD Joana Guerra and PhD António Rafael Amaro, she is currently finishing her PhD program in Contemporary Studies, which will be presented to the Centre of Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Coimbra – CEIS20. She has presented and published several papers on health planning and statistics. She was recently awarded a prize for a poster on the evaluation of the results of political measures to reduce levels of salt in bread. Her paper “Avaliação sobre a implementação de uma medida de promoção da saúde em Portugal. Menos sal por dia, nem sabe o bem que lhe fazia!" has been approved for publishing in the Annals of the VI SIPINF, PUCRS, Brasil. She integrated the scientific committee of IDIAL-NET, a Portuguese-Spanish multidisciplinary network in the area of population-based medicine, in which she helped design the population sample.
