CuidIn 2.0: Assessing the mental health of informal caregivers
CEISUC is the promoter of a project that will assess the mental health of informal caregivers.
After the results obtained in CuidIn, CuidIn 2.0 appears, with the aim of mitigating the growing social problem associated with the deterioration of mental health and well-being conditions of informal caregivers.
The project includes the municipalities of Cantanhede, Mira and Mealhada as social investors, as well as Lactogal.
On January 8, the Letter of Commitment to co-finance this social innovation project was signed in the presence of the president of CEISUC, the mayors of the three municipalities and the chairman of the board of Lactogal.
Cuidin 2.0 aims to provide tools and strategies to better manage informal caregivers' autonomy, confidence and well-being; to promote health and care literacy, the rights and duties of informal caregivers; but also to involve volunteers and future caregivers who are trained and aware to act as a reinforcement of the support network for informal caregivers.
The project will have a monitoring committee, which will include representatives of social investors, the Coimbra Local Health Unit, a representative of Social Security, the Association Cuidadores Portugal, the Portuguese Network of Healthy Municipalities and the Rotary Club of Cantanhede.
