As part of the 50 x April exhibition “Is there still a story to tell?”, a workshop on “Censored Writing” will be held on May 31, from 3pm to 5pm, with Manuel Portela.
This workshop is based on an exercise to limit the freedom to write. Participants will be given three themes in advance and a set of words associated with these themes that cannot be used. Based on this arbitrary imposition, each participant will have to write a text on the theme they have been given while respecting the ban. The texts are then read and commented on together, taking into account the following three questions: What did I want to write? Did I manage to write what I wanted? What effect did limiting the freedom to write have on the text I wrote? The workshop ends with a reflection on censorship, freedom and creativity.
