Presentation

Neurotranslações é um curso de formação composto por 8 módulos abrangendo diferentes cenários de translação para os avanços do conhecimento acerca da interação entre cérebro, mente e comportamento, nomeadamente:

Introdução ao cérebro, mente e comportamento;

neuroestética;

neurohistória;

neurojustiça;

neuroeconomia;

neuropolítica;

neuroengenharia;

neuroeducação.

Com exceção do primeiro módulo introdutório, que permitirá a aquisição de conhecimentos básicos de psicologia e neurociências constituindo um pré-requisito para todos os cursos, todos os restantes módulos podem ser realizados de forma autónoma.

Objectives

The objective of this postgraduate course is to allow professionals from different professional areas and knowledge to understand:

  1. the implications for their respective domains of advances in research on the interfaces between brain, mind and behavior;
  2. in order to enable an advanced scientific understanding of everyday phenomena;
  3. making scientifically informed decisions; and
  4. construction of projects, scenarios and professional environments that facilitate the optimization of human potential.

Skills to develop

  1. To Acquire knowledge about neuronal functioning;
  2. To understand the relationship between brain, mind and behavior in different domains (arts, history, justice, economics, engineering, politics and education);
  3. Acquisition of decision-making skills informed by neuroscience research; and
  4. Develop actions that facilitate the optimization of human potential in different domains (arts, history, justice, economics, engineering, politics and education).

Access conditions

Neurotranslations is aimed at an audience with a college degree not specialized in the fields of psychology and neurosciences, with interests or professional experience in fields such as the arts, history, law, economics, politics, engineering or education. Higher education at Bachelor's level or equivalent.

Under Regulation No 1126/2022 for the Attribution of Incentives for the Training of Young People and Adults, published in the DR of November 21, 2022:
  • Any financial benefits that may be granted under the PRR are conditional on candidates holding a Portuguese NIF and residing in Portugal, at the time of the course;
  • Trainees who wish to repeat training for which they have not been approved and for which they have already benefited from a scholarship are not eligible for a scholarship;
  • Trainees who register in a course or initiative financed by PRR-LFA (Investments RE-C06.i03.03 – Adult Incentive and RE-C06.i04.01 – Impulso Jovens STEAM, opened by Notice 01/PRR/2021), accept that they were aware of the total/partial discount on the price defined for the course, initiative and/or attendance expenses and authorize that it be granted if its attribution is decided under the regulations in force.

Study plan

1 Interfaces Disciplinares entre Cérebro, Mente e Comportamento

Acquisition of fundamental knowledge about the neuronal bases of the brain and mind, from the molecular level to the neuronal systems.

2 Neuroaesthetics - Implications of Knowledge in Brain, Mind and Behavior for the Visual and Performing Arts

To know the neural bases of vision and hearing and understand their implications for aesthetic creation, particularly in terms of visual arts and music.

3 Neurohistory - Implications of Knowledge in Brain, Mind and Behavior for History, Culture and Evolution

To understand how the brain evolved in the human species and how, at the same time, our understanding of its mechanisms evolved through-out history.

4 Neurohistory - Implications of Knowledge in Brain, Mind and Behavior for History, Culture and Evolution

To understand the functioning of neural mechanisms of social functioning and its implications for ethical, moral and criminal behavior development.

5 Neuroeconomy - Implications of Knowledge in Brain, Mind and Behavior for Decision Making

To understand the neural bases of decision-making and the negotiation processes and its connection to the mechanisms of motivation and preference.

6 Neuropolitics- Implications of Knowledge in Brain, Mind and Behavior for Systems and Political Choices

To understand the relationship between brain, personality, emotions and political choices.

7 Neuroengineering- Implications of Knowledge in Brain, Mind and Behavior for HumanMachine Interaction and Development of Intelligent System

To know the potentiality of the research on the interaction between brain and machine, particularly in the development of rehabilitation solutions, virtual reality, intelligent and protoconscious systems.

8 Neuroeducation- Implications of Knowledge in Brain, Mind and Behavior for Learning and Teaching

To know the neural mechanisms of learning, memory, attention and action and their implications for education and teaching.
