Presentation

O Curso de Verão: Novas fronteiras, outros diálogos: cooperação e desenvolvimento apresenta uma proposta de abordagem às temáticas relacionadas com as Paisagens, Patrimónios e Desenvolvimento Local, entre outras áreas relevantes.

Objectives

The course is guided by the following objectives:
(i) Identify and enhance the natural, human, material and intangible territory resources as critical and strategic factors of development (landscape, heritage, culture, etc.);
(ii) comparatively analyse economic and social dynamics in different spatial contexts, endeavouring to identify programmes and activities aimed to promote territorial cohesion;
(iii) encourage the dialogue between knowledge and researchers, aiming to extend networks and consolidate partnerships with entities in the Iberian space, both European and African, as well as Latin American, namely those in Portuguese-speaking countries, asserting the CEI as a knowledge transfer centre;
(iv) enhance the field work as a pedagogical strategy, as a strategy of knowledge and promotion of the natural and cultural heritage, and as a dialogue space to compare the Portuguese border with other geographies and regional contexts.

Skills to develop

At the end of the course, the trainees should be able to:

  • develop field work in different contexts, mainly the one carried out in more remote geographies and regional contexts such as the border's hinterland;
  • have critical thinking skills;
  • have ability to do team work within the scope of the creation of research networks, by promoting dialogue between knowledge and researchers.
