International Academic Forum of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Portugal
Confucius Institute of the University of Coimbra holds its first lecture
On March 16, with the support of the “Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Zhejiang School” project abroad, the Confucius Institute of the University of Coimbra successfully held the first lecture of the International Academic Forum of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Portugal, which was attended by around 30 Portuguese professionals and traditional Chinese medicine enthusiasts.
The lecture, whose main theme was “Aesthetic Acupuncture”, featured Dr. Chen Lifang, chief physician of the Third Affiliated Hospital of the Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Dr. Chen Wenqian, chief physician of the Lisbon Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment Center, who presented reports entitled “Clinical Skills and Evidence-Based Results of Aesthetic Acupuncture” and “Theory and Practice of Facial Acupuncture”, respectively. Both gave in-depth but accessible explanations and analyses of the concepts, mechanisms, methods, techniques and effectiveness of aesthetic acupuncture. At the end of the lectures, participants asked questions, sparking lively discussions and providing an enriching experience.
The “Traditional Chinese Medicine of Zhejiang School” is the unified name of the academic school of traditional Chinese medicine in Zhejiang, which carries a deep historical heritage and rich medical wisdom. Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as an important academic center and a leader in the international promotion of this school, adopts a concept of openness, actively promoting this academic school globally and contributing the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine to world health.
The Confucius Institute of the University of Coimbra took this opportunity to actively organize the International Academic Forum of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Portugal, mainly through a series of lectures and academic discussions with experts from the “Zhejiang School” and Portuguese specialists, transmitting valuable knowledge to professionals and enthusiasts of traditional Chinese medicine in Portugal, promoting the expansion of “Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Zhejiang School” and supporting the continuous development of traditional Chinese medicine in Portugal.
