Portugal 2030

Portugal 2030 (PT2030) puts into practice the Partnership Agreement between Portugal and the European Commission to apply €23 billion of European funds to projects that stimulate and develop the Portuguese economy, between 2021 and 2027.

With a view to improve the lives of the European citizens and, in particular, of the Portuguese people, the implementation of the programme aims at:

  • A more competitive and smarter economy;
  • Ensuring the transition to a sustainable and carbon-neutral economy;
  • The creation and improvment of strategic transport networks;
  • More social and inclusive measures;
  • Promoting social and territorial cohesion addressing citizens’ needs;
  • Ensuring a green transition, accompanying the climate emergency and incorporating the goals of Paris Agreement.

Portugal 2030 is structured in 12 types of programmes:

  • Thematic programmes: Compete 2030, Pessoas 2030, Sustentável 2030 e Mar 2030.
  • Regional programmes: Norte 2030, Centro 2030, Lisboa 2030, Alentejo 2030, Algarve 2030, Açores 2030 e Madeira 2030.

These are complemented by Technical Assistance Programmes, which deal with the coordination and management of the funds, and the European Territory Programmes in which Portugal also participates.

Funding is granted via competitive calls and an independent assessment process of the submitted applications.
