FAQ
Yes. However, you have to contact us first at dapi @ uc.pt.
When a Call allows only one application per beneficiary organization, there must be an internal selection process led by the rectory of UC.
For that purpose, the Principal Investigator must inform the Research Support Unit (dapi @ uc.pt) of his/her intention to apply 21 days before the deadline. The decision of the Rectory shall be known in due time.
The Research Support Unit (DAPI) will provide this type of assistance:
- Detailed information about the call and the participation rules;
- Collection and organization of the institutional information of the University of Coimbra needed for the application;
- Registration of the University of Coimbra in the funding organization/ programme system, whenever applicable;
- Partner search;
- Assistance in the elaboration and/or validation of the budget;
- Assistance in the elaboration and/ or signature of legal supporting documents related to the University of Coimbra needed for the application;
- Liaison with other services of the University of Coimbra for the elaboration of consortium agreements needed for the application.
Please send an email to dapi @ uc.pt with the following data:
- Principal Investigator and contact details;
- Funding programme and call;
- Application abstract;
- Tasks allocated to UC;
- UC team members;
- Partner organisations;
- Resources and estimated costs to implement the tasks allocated to UC.
The Research Support Unit (DAPI) will designate an application manager to your project proposal that will follow-up the application process until the funding contracting phase.
The application manager will establish contact with the Principal Investigator to assist him/ her in the preparation of the application via the traditional communication media (email, phone). If necessary, face-to-face meetings can be arranged.
No. The application manager can meet the Principal Investigator or the project team at other UC campuses. Meetings can also take place electronically via the existing available resources (UC Meetings, Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, etc.).
Yes, because the application budget and its legal and administrative framework must be validated by the Research Support Unit (DAPI) before submission. However, the Principal Investigator can contact DAPI to get assistance in the elaboration and check of these elements or just for validation purposes.
In the case of applications coordinated by the University of Coimbra, including a partnership, we recommend the involvement of DAPI since the start of the application preparation phase.
When you request DAPI’s assistance, we are able to register the applications in the UC project management system (SAP) and create an institutional repository of project proposals thus contributing to better manage the I&D activities of the University of Coimbra.
The Research Support Unit (DAPI) will assist you in the negotiation and contracting of the funding as follows:
- Contact with the funding organization or project leader to discuss the terms of the approved proposal;
- Verification of the approval terms and/ or updating of the budget;
- Gathering and signature of the necessary legal documents;
- Liaison with other services of the University of Coimbra for technical advice and/ or negotiation and formalisation of partnership agreements and contracts.
No, the specialised support to the financial execution of approved projects is provided by the Project Management Unit (DPA). The Research Support Unit (DAPI) transfers the project file along with its funding contract and any other relevant documents to DPA, whenever DAPI made the application’s follow-up.
If DAPI was not involved in the application or is not aware of the application’s approval, the Principal Investigator must send a copy of the application as well as of the funding contract and any other relevant annexes via email to DAPI (dapi @ uc.pt). DAPI organizes a project file and transfers it to DPA.
