Knowledge and Technology Transfer

Knowledge and technology transfer activities are an important part of our mission. We believe that by sharing our resources and skills with users around the world, we can contribute to a safer, more sustainable, and equitable world.

The knowledge transfer and capacity-building initiatives undertaken by the eoLab contribute to advancing the adoption of Earth Observation (EO) technologies by a global audience. Over the past three years alone, the eoLab has successfully trained over 500 individuals across 50 countries.

Noteworthy accomplishments include the eoLab's leadership role in the NASA Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mentorship Program, numerous scientific workshops (e.g., yearly AGU workshops), and the GLOBE Program in Portugal. The development of the Watersheds.Online website has exemplified our commitment to providing accessible and comprehensive geospatial information for effective product adoption for sustainable management of watersheds. Additionally, our leadership in the Mainstreaming EO Working Group is facilitating collaborative efforts to integrate EO data into decision-making processes worldwide.

The eoLab's impact extends to education, with a focus on training students of various levels and diverse origins. As part of our continuous commitment to excellence, we are proud to announce the expansion of our efforts in 2024. New programs, many aligned with the 'Year of Water Equity' initiative, will be introduced to address emerging challenges in Earth Observation and water resource management.

Recognizing the diverse needs of our partners, the eoLab excels in creating tailored programs to meet specific requirements. For detailed insights into our offerings, please visit our services page. As we continue to pioneer advancements in EO, our dedication to knowledge transfer remains steadfast, ensuring that individuals and organizations worldwide are equipped to harness the full potential of geospatial data for a sustainable and equitable future.
