Julianna Santos and Nirmal Kulkarni, both PhD students in Architecture at DARQ (Coimbra Studio), were recognized for their contributions as co-author and author of two distinguished articles, respectively.

Julianna Santos co-authored the article “Reinterpretação de Edifícios e Espaços Urbanos, pelos azulejos de Delfim Amorim” (“Reinterpretation of Buildings and Urban Spaces through the Tiles of Delfim Amorim”) alongside Patrícia Oliveira and Liliana Adrião. This work earned the Professor José Galbinski Award at the 5th International Seminar AEAULP “Proximidades Distantes” (“Distant Proximities”), held in Brasília in December 2023.

Nirmal Kulkarni, author of the article “Dynamics of Homecoming: Socio-spatial practices defining Hindu religious geographies from Marcel, Goa, India”, received the Iaste Berkeley Paper Prize at the IASTE 2024 Congress, which took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in January 2024.
