Biografia

Armando Rabaça is an architect and Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra, was vice-director of the department between 2020 and 2021 and coordinator of the Integrated Master’s in Architecture between 2018 and 2020. A PhD researcher at the Centre of 20th Century Interdisciplinary Studies (CEIS 20), his research is centred on nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century architecture, urban design and architectural theory, with a focus on the work of Le Corbusier, through which contemporary architecture and architecture culture are approached. Authored the book Entre o Espaço e a Paisagem (Coimbra: Edarq, 2011), edited the book Le Corbusier, History and Tradition (Coimbra: Coimbra University Press, 2017), and has contributed to a number of books and architectural periodicals. Has been editorial coordinator of Edarq (the Department of Architecture Press) and editor-in-chief of the journal Joelho - Journal of Architectural Culture with Bruno Gil since 2019. Was awarded an honorable mention in the Competition for the Consolidation of the Historical City of Erice, Italy, the Fernando Távora Prize, and the Diogo de Castilho Prize (honorable mention), among others.
