Paula del Río

Paula del Río is an architect and invited assistant teacher in the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra lecturing in 1st year architecture studio. Developed studies and initiated teaching career at the HigherTechnical School of Architecture of Madrid, from which graduated in 2010 and obtained a Master’s degree in Advanced Architectural Projects. Between 2011 and 2014 was assistant lecturer in the 4th year studio led by Juan Carlos Sancho. Co-founded Branco del Rio arquitectos with João Branco in 2014, an architecture studio focused on the development of projects for new construction and rehabilitation. Their work has been recognised in multiple domains: the ephemeral installation En el Túnel was a finalist at FAD Architecture Award 2016, and Casa em Janeanes was selected for the same prize in 2014, and finalist at BigMat Award 2017. In 2020 were awarded first Prize in competition for 3 public housing buildings in Almada.
